Thank you for your interest in attending the 71st Annual Meeting of the Southern Legislative Conference, convening in Biloxi, Mississippi, July 29 – August 2, 2017.


Online registration is closed. If you would like attend, you must register on-site. On-site registration will open at 7:30 a.m., Saturday, July 29, in the West Lobby of the Mississippi Coast Convention Center.

Registration Policies

  • Discounted registration rates apply until Friday, June 9.
  • Online registration is available until Friday, July 7. After July 7, all registrations are handled on-site.
  • On-site registration opens at 7:30 a.m., Saturday, July 29.
  • Registrations must be submitted online.


  • Payment of registration fees for all meeting participants, except legislators and legislative staff, must be submitted with your registration.
  • Registration fees are non-transferable.


  • Registration cancellations must be in writing, sent by post or emailed to, and received by the SLC by July 7.
  • Cancellations received after June 9 but before July 7 will be charged an administrative fee of $100.
  • Cancellations received after July 7 and no-shows are not eligible for a refund.

Housing Policies

  • You are responsible for making your hotel reservations.
  • A registration for the annual meeting must be submitted to secure discounted hotel room rates. Discounted hotel room links will be sent to the email address submitted with the annual meeting registration.
  • Reservations must be received by the hotel by June 9. The SLC cannot guarantee hotel accommodations after the housing deadline has passed..
  • A deposit of one night’s stay plus taxes is assessed for all reservations at the time of booking.
  • Guests with reservations at any of the Conference hotels, but not registered for the SLC annual meeting by July 7, will be charged the prevailing hotel rate for the length of their stay.
  • Cancellations of hotel reservations must be made three days in advance of arrival in order to secure a refund of your deposit.
  • Telephone reservations are accepted only at the Hard Rock Hotel.
  • Please contact your hotel directly regarding cancellation policies and if you wish to modify your reservation.
  • The SLC is not responsible for providing hotel confirmations. Please contact the hotel directly for your confirmation number.
  • The SLC cannot block rooms in the Conference hotels for states or other organizations.

Policy Positions

  • SLC Rules require that all proposed policy positions be submitted a minimum of 21 calendar days in advance of the Annual Meeting.
  • Proposed policy positions must be received in the Atlanta office by July 7.

General Guidelines

  • All publicized SLC committee sessions and plenary sessions are open to all annual meeting registrants regardless of formal committee appointments or affiliations.
  • Attire for committee meetings is casual.
  • Attire for family and guest activities is casual unless otherwise indicated.
  • The State Dinner is intended for guests age 18 and over. Business attire is suggested.
