Housing Policies

  • You are responsible for making your hotel reservations.
  • A registration for the annual meeting must be submitted to secure discounted hotel room rates. Discounted hotel room links will be sent to the email address submitted with the annual meeting registration.
  • Reservations must be received by the hotel by May 27. The SLC cannot guarantee hotel accommodations.
  • A deposit of one night’s stay plus taxes is assessed for all reservations at the time of booking.
  • Guests with reservations at any of the Conference hotels, but not registered for the 70th Annual Meeting of the Southern Legislative Conference by June 14, will be charged the prevailing hotel rate for the length of their stay.
  • Cancellations of hotel reservations must be made three days in advance of arrival in order to secure a refund of your deposit.
  • No telephone reservations will be accepted.
  • Please contact your hotel directly regarding cancellation policies and if you wish to modify your reservation.
  • The SLC is not responsible for providing hotel confirmations. Please contact the hotel directly for your confirmation number.
  • The SLC cannot block rooms in the Conference hotels for states or other organizations.

Thank you for your interest in attending the 70th Annual Meeting of the Southern Legislative Conference, convening in Lexington, Kentucky, on July 9-13, 2016.

Online registration is closed. If you would like attend, you must register on-site. On-site registration will open at 7:30 a.m., Saturday, July 9, in the Thoroughbred Prefunction Space, Level 3, Lexington Convention Center.

Registration Policies

There are four ways to register:

1) Mail by June 16
2) Fax by June 16
3) Online by July 7
4) Onsite beginning July 29

Registration Policies

  • Discounted registration rates apply until June 16.
  • Mailed and faxed registrations will not be accepted after June 16; online registration closes on July 7. After July 7, all registrations will be handled on site.
  • No telephone registrations will be accepted.
  • Incomplete registrations will not be processed.
  • You will receive confirmation of your registration via email.
  • Registration fees for all meeting participants, except legislators and legislative staff, must accompany registration forms in order to be processed.
  • Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, in whole or in part, once the meeting convenes and credentials have been issued.
    It is always good practice to keep a copy of all forms mailed to the SLC, the Host State, and the Conference hotel.

Cancellation Policies

  • Registration cancellations must be in writing and received by the SLC in Atlanta by July 7.
  • Cancellations can be mailed, emailed to slcreginfo@csg.org, or faxed to (404) 633-4896. Telephone cancellations cannot be accepted.
  • Registrations fees are non-transferable.

Important Dates

Before June 16 Cancellations received before June 16 will not be charged cancellation fees.
June 16 to July 7 Cancellations received after June 16 but before July 7 will be charged an administrative fee of $100.
After July 7 Cancellations received after July 7 and no-shows will be charged full registration.

Reminders

  • SLC Rules require that all proposed policies positions be submitted a minimum of 21 calendar days in advance of the Annual Meeting. For 2015, all proposed policy positions must be received in the Atlanta office by June 17.
  • Opening and closing plenary sessions, SLC standing committees, and host-sponsored events are open to all conferees.

Attire

  • Attire for committee meetings is business casual. Attire for family and guest activities is casual unless otherwise indicated. Business attire is suggested for the State Dinner.
