virginia 2007 61st Annual Meeting of the Southern Legislative Conference
SLC Home

Exchanging Ideas

Perhaps the most valuable aspect of the SLC Annual Meeting is the opportunity for members to meet and exchange ideas, both during committee sessions and informally throughout the meeting.  The SLC Annual Meeting is a unique opportunity to learn about activities from across our region and to share successes and concerns with policymakers from throughout the South.

Plenaries

The SLC Annual Meeting features three plenaries, all of which are open to all conferees.  These sessions offer all participants at the SLC Annual Meeting an opportunity to hear timely insights and new ideas on issues of national and regional importance.

Committee Meetings

Each of the six standing committees of the SLC meets twice during the Annual Meeting, affording committee members and other interested policymakers the chance to hear from noted experts and discuss current topics within their specific interest area.

Technical Tours

The SLC makes every effort to provide an opportunity for legislators  and staff to observe innovative activities and approaches firsthand through arranged technical tours to sites near the meeting place.
