Annual Meeting Legislative Fiscal Plenary Session

The 68th Annual Meeting of the Southern Legislative Conference, Legislative Fiscal Plenary Session of the SLC Fiscal Affairs & Government Operations, will feature Former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Rodney E. Slater, discussing the evolving role of federalism issues in state transportation policy.

Aeronautics in the SLC States: Cleared for Takeoff

The Southern Legislative Conference recently recently released a new SLC Regional Resource examining the increasing number of aeronautics companies that are locating, relocating or expanding their manufacturing operations in the South, a trend particularly discernible in the aftermath of the Great Recession.

The STAR program identifies and promotes innovative ideas and programs from the Southern region’s best problem solvers: the states themselves. The SLC welcomes applications from a wide array of state agencies, departments, and institutions operating within the executive, legislative, and judicial governmental branches. The deadline for applications for recognition is Friday, May 30, 2014.

Center for the Advancement of Leadership Skills

The 2013 SLC Center for the Advancement of Leadership Skills (CALS) was held on October 30 - November 3, 2013, at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute of The University of Arkansas System. The CALS program SLC's mission of championing excellence in state government and providing non-partisan forums for state officials who might rarely cross paths to share ideas.
