States in red passed immigration legislation in 2006:

This year, with the exception of Louisiana*, all 16 SLC states have bills in their legislatures dealing with the affects of illegal immigration.  In 2006, 10 of these states passed 19 bills that create new laws in the following areas:

Hiring of Illegal Immigrants:
Louisiana, Tennessee
Human Trafficking/Forced Labor:
Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina, Virginia
ID/Voter Registration:
Florida, Missouri, South Carolina, Virginia
Miscellaneous:
Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee
Omnibus:
Georgia
Public Safety (drunk driving, handgun permits, etc):
Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia

*The Louisiana State Legislature does convene in 2007 until April 30.
