Q:

What are the latest foreclosure rates for households in the SLC states?

A:

The housing market in the U.S. has been contracting in the last year or so.  The implosion of the sub-prime mortgage market has also been another important related trend.  Both these developments have already impacted on the finances of a number of SLC states.  According to the latest report from RealtyTrac Inc., the leading online marketplace for foreclosure properties, for the first six months of 2007, there was a foreclosure filing for every 134 U.S. households.  Nevada, Colorado and California were the top 3 foreclosure states in the country while in the SLC, Florida and Georgia ranked in the top 10.
